Job Description

Would you like to work with large international data flows and contribute to the detection of money laundering and terrorist financing? Are you experienced with PySpark, Python and scalable data processing and comfortable writing production-ready code? Then this could be an interesting opportunity for you.

For Rabobank, we are looking for a Data Scientist / Data Engineer to work on the international data model used for transaction monitoring. You will process and connect large volumes of data from different parts of Rabobank and help ensure that this data can be used reliably and at scale.

The team

You will join a team consisting of 9 Data Scientists, 1 Scrum Master and 1 Product Owner. The team is responsible for the data model used for Rabobank's international clients.

You will also collaborate with data producers from across Rabobank and developers who create transaction monitoring logic. In total, you will work within an environment of approximately 180 colleagues.

Strong collaboration and communication are therefore important. You know how to work with different stakeholders, solve problems and critically reflect on your own approach.

Your role

As a Data Scientist / Data Engineer, you will develop and maintain the transaction monitoring data model used for Rabobank's international clients.

Using Python, PySpark, Databricks and Airflow, you will transform and process large data flows and write production-ready code. You will also work on improving scalability, help build a monorepository and support the onboarding of new regions to the data model.

This is not only a technical role. You will coordinate with data producers from different parts of Rabobank about data sources and data quality and work closely with developers who build transaction monitoring logic and depend on reliable data.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and improving the international transaction monitoring data model.
  • Writing and optimising production-ready code for large-scale data processing.
  • Building scalable data transformations using Python and PySpark.
  • Working with Databricks and Airflow.
  • Connecting data from different parts of Rabobank.
  • Coordinating with data producers about data sources and data quality.
  • Helping build a monorepository.
  • Onboarding new regions to the data model. Working with developers responsible for transaction monitoring logic.
