Data Scientist, Payments

For our client, we are seeking a Data Scientist, Payments to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This role will focus on analyzing customer behavior and payment performance to improve key product experiences across the platform. You will own targeted analyses, experimentation, and reporting that help teams make better decisions and drive measurable product outcomes. The position partners closely with product and cross-functional stakeholders to translate data into clear recommendations and support ongoing optimization.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $126,000 – $170,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Own and execute well-defined analyses to support product goals
• Analyze buyer and seller behaviors to enhance payment experiences
• Design and conduct experiments to assess product impact
• Build and maintain reliable datasets and dashboards with documentation
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations and collaborate with teams
• Adapt to evolving job duties as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a quantitative role
• Proficient in SQL; experience with Python or R is a plus
• Familiarity with experimentation, dashboarding, and statistical methods
• Strong project management skills for analytical tasks
• Commitment to data quality and clear documentation
• Ability to communicate insights and recommendations effectively
• Curiosity about customer behavior; growth mindset
• Experience in payments, marketplaces, or e-commerce is advantageous
