Data Scientist Principal

For our client, we are seeking a Data Scientist Principal to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will lead advanced AI/ML initiatives that turn complex data into actionable insights and operational value. The position focuses on integrating generative AI, large language models, and automated intelligence into existing systems to improve decision-making and service delivery. You will also mentor junior data scientists and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver practical, scalable solutions across the organization.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $122,400 – $165,600 annually

Responsibilities

• Build AI/ML solutions that help clients turn data into action
• Integrate advanced AI capabilities within existing systems
• Implement both custom-built and vendor-based AI solutions
• Design automated tracking and reporting AI systems
• Utilize generative AI to produce precise, data-driven responses
• Develop intelligent management frameworks for service and account administration
• Mentor and supervise junior data scientists

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience as a data scientist with an AI/ML focus
• Strong coding ability in AI/ML with both custom and vendor solutions
• Experience with generative AI and large language models
• Proficiency in AI/ML cloud technologies, especially AWS
• Expert-level skills in Python data science libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, and SQL
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement
