Data Security Analyst

We are looking for a Data Security Analyst to join a large-scale Data Security Programme focused on protecting sensitive enterprise data and strengthening data governance across the organisation.

In this role, you will work with Microsoft Purview and Cyera to investigate data security findings, assess how sensitive information is classified and protected, and collaborate with data owners and business stakeholders to drive remediation.

This is a hands-on role at the intersection of Data Security, Information Protection, Data Governance and Compliance .

Location: Remote - Slovakia preferred (commuting upon agreement)

Type: Contract- trade license, s.r.o. or Full-Time (TPP/HPP)

Key Responsibilities

• Review and investigate alerts, findings and risks identified through Microsoft Purview, Cyera and related security tools .
• Identify relevant data owners, application owners and business stakeholders and coordinate remediation activities.
• Assess whether sensitive data is:
• Properly classified
• Stored in the appropriate location
• Protected according to company policies and security standards
• Subject to appropriate retention and access controls
• Analyse recurring issues and trends across the enterprise data landscape.
• Support improvements to data classification, retention, protection and governance policies .
• Follow up with data owners to ensure identified issues are remediated within agreed timelines.
• Support the continuous improvement of security monitoring, alerting and investigation processes.
• Document findings, actions and remediation progress.
• Collaborate with Security, IT, Data Governance, Compliance and business teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in Data Security, Data Governance, Information Protection, Compliance, Information Security or a related field.
• Good understanding of:
• Data classification
• Sensitive data protection
• Data lifecycle management
• Data governance
• Retention and protection policies
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance tools , ideally Microsoft Purview .
• Experience with DLP, sensitivity labels, retention or information protection is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Ability to investigate issues, identify root causes and coordinate remediation.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple findings or remediation activities.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Cyera, BigID, Varonis, Collibra or similar data security/governance platforms.
• Microsoft security certifications such as SC-900 or SC-400 , or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations .
• Experience working in large enterprise environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, SharePoint Online, OneDrive or other Microsoft 365 services.
