Data Specialist – Data Engineering & Quality

On behalf of our client, an independent, internationally active wealth and asset management group, we are looking for a Data Specialist (f/m/d) focused on data engineering and data quality.

About the role

Data is central to our client's business across Finance, Risk, Operations, Front Office and regulatory reporting. The Data Office of the German entity improves data quality, transparency and regulatory compliance and helps business teams make better use of their data. The role combines hands-on data engineering with data quality monitoring and support for key business and regulatory initiatives.

Your responsibilities

Data Engineering

• Design, build and maintain data solutions using SQL, Python, dbt and modern data platforms
• Develop reports, dashboards and analytical solutions for Front Office, Finance, Risk and Operations
• Support the development and operation of the data platform and reporting capabilities
• Automate data, reporting and control processes

Data Quality

• Implement and maintain data quality controls and monitoring for critical business and regulatory data
• Investigate data quality issues, identify root causes and support remediation

Data Governance

• Support the implementation of Data Ownership, Critical Data and regulatory data requirements
• Contribute to the Critical Data programme and other data-related initiatives
• Work directly with business teams to improve data quality, ownership and reporting
• Help business users analyse data, improve reporting and solve data-related issues

Your profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
• 3–6 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics or Data Quality, ideally in financial services or another regulated environment
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and modern data platforms. Snowflake experience is highly desirable
• Experience with Python for data engineering, automation or analytics
• Experience with dbt, cloud-based data platforms or workflow orchestration is a plus
• Track record of building reporting, analytics or data quality solutions
• Professional certification (e.g. CDMP, CIMP) is a plus
• Excellent English. German and/or French are a strong advantage
• Well organised, self-motivated and proactive, with strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a multicultural environment
