What they need

Someone hands you a spec. You find the footage.

An AI lab needs 2,000 hours of people cooking, filmed from above, in Tamil, cleared for commercial training, by the end of next month. Our sales team gets that brief, passes it to you, and goes back to selling. You take it from there.

The Data Supply Lead is the person who turns buyer requirements into rights-cleared source material. You use every channel open to you: our existing catalogue, partners we already trade with, rights holders who have never thought of their archive as data, commissioned collection, and whatever else gets the job done legitimately. You also run the campaigns that build supply before the next brief arrives.

We're looking for a natural deal-maker. You're charming without trying, hungry without being frantic, and you treat "we don't have that" as the start of a conversation.

About ContentX Labs

ContentX Labs is the rights-cleared data foundation for real-world AI. We supply licensed video to teams building generative video, avatars, robotics and other AI systems that need to learn how the world looks, moves and sounds. The source material spans more than 60 languages.

Our position is simple: ambiguous rights don't stay with the supplier, they follow the model. So we clear rights before material enters the pipeline, not after.

Demand is not our constraint. Supply that matches it, fast enough, is. That is why this role exists.

What you'll actually do

  • Take the brief and run.

Sales hand you a buyer requirement covering modality, hours, languages, clearances and deadline. Within 48 hours you tell them whether we can fill it fully, partly or not at all, with an ETA. Then you go and get it.

  • Work every supply lane.

Before going external, check what our own catalogue can cover. Then turn to partners we already trade content with, since reciprocal deals with people who already trust us are the quickest wins. After that come rights holders outside traditional media (sports bodies, dashcam operators, security firms, research institutions) and commissioned or crowd-sourced collection when nothing on the shelf fits.

  • Run supply campaigns.

Build lists, write the outreach, set the offer, and work with marketing to run it through our outbound stack. You decide what good looks like and what gets cut.

  • Use all the tools.

Clay, Apollo, Sales Navigator, AI agents, scrapers, spreadsheets held together with optimism. If a tool gets supply in faster and cleaner, use it. If it doesn't exist yet, tell us and we'll talk about building it.

  • Do the deals.

Negotiate data-shaped terms: revenue share and per-hour pricing by default, with guarantees only when a signed buyer requirement backs them.

  • Land it properly.

Work with our content and rights team on clearance and with engineering on ingestion so that what you source actually ships.

Who you'll work with

You sit in the product team, alongside the tooling, analysis and pipeline you'll use every day. This is a commercial role with a number. It sits in product because that's where the machinery is, and you'll spend most of your week with sales, marketing, and our content and rights team.

Sales

Throw you the bone and keep the buyer. You own supply until it lands.

Content (Data) and rights

Your closest partners. They own the catalogue and its rights holders, tell you within 24 hours what it can cover, and sign off clearance on everything you source. You share one target: hours shipped into closed deals.

Analysis and scrum

Turn your campaigns into a repeatable process, with targets, cadence and weekly reporting, so good instincts become a system.

Marketing

Run your supply campaigns through the outbound stack alongside our buyer-side activity.

Engineering

Get what you source ingested, processed and delivered.

The weekly rhythm is light: a shared requirements board and a 30-minute supply stand-up. Everything else is you getting on with it.

Who you are

  • A go-getter, in fact rather than on your CV.

You've closed supply or partnership deals where the other side didn't know they wanted to deal until you called.

  • Naturally charming.

Rights holders, archivists, studio heads and the person who controls a warehouse of hard drives all take your call, and take the second one too.

  • Hungry.

You want a number, you want to beat it, and you're comfortable being measured on what ships rather than on activity.

  • Technically sharp and AI-native.

You can talk to an ML engineer about modalities, annotations and training sets without bluffing, then explain it again to a rights holder in plain English. AI tools are second nature to you: you build your own agents, lists and automations, and you don't wait for anyone to set them up.

  • Commercially sharp.

You can tell a good deal from a busy one, and you know a guarantee with no buyer behind it is a cost, not a win.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity.

The brief will rarely be complete. You'll ask the one question that matters and get on with it.

  • Helpful but not essential:

experience at an AI data vendor, a stock footage or media licensing business, or on the supply side of a marketplace; a working knowledge of rights, consent and likeness clearance; contacts in India, South Korea or the wider APAC region. If your instinct with a brief is to explain why it's difficult, this probably isn't for you. If your instinct is to start a list, read on.

How we'll know it's working

The headline measure is hours of source material shipped into closed deals. Hours signed don't count until a buyer has them.

  • First 30 days:

every stalled buyer requirement reviewed and given a sourcing answer, and the first reciprocal deals agreed with existing partners.

  • First 90 days:

supply campaigns running weekly with reporting in place, a non-media rights-holder lane open, and requirement turnaround consistently within 48 hours.

  • Ongoing:

fewer deals lost for lack of data, faster time from brief to delivery, and supply sourced on terms the margin can carry.

What this role isn't

  • Not a catalogue role.

You aren't here to build a library that looks impressive and sells slowly. You source against demand.

  • Not a desk job.

Most of what you need isn't in an inbox yet.

  • Not traditional TV licensing.

Windows, territories and minimum guarantees will come up. They won't be what drives the deal.
