Data Technical Manager

About the role

EY GDS is seeking a Data Technical Manager to lead a growing Data Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a leading firm, working with strong technology and data understanding in the big data engineering space with proven delivery capability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop & deploy Azure ADF and Databricks in a cloud environment using Azure Cloud services and Databricks
• Cloud architecture and ETL/ELT design, lead development, and deployment
• Interact with Onshore, understand their business goals, contribute to the delivery of the workstreams
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage project timelines and deliverables
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery and fostering professional growth

About you

• 15+ years of experience in developing data ingestion, data processing, and analytical pipelines for big data, relational databases, NoSQL, and data warehouse solutions
• Extensive hands-on experience implementing data migration and data processing using Azure services: Databricks, ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Synapse/DW, Azure SQL DB, Azure Data Catalog, Cosmos DB
• Familiar with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
• Familiar with data warehousing concepts
• Familiar with at least 1 business intelligence tool such as Power BI, Looker, Qlik, Tableau
• Hands-on experience in Databricks Unity Catalog
• Hands-on experience in Data modelling techniques and best practices for data warehousing
• Hands-on experience on Spark/PySpark
• Hands-on experience in programming languages such as Python/Scala
• Knowledge in DevOps and CI/CD deployments
