Our client, a sizable FI company is now looking for a high caliber candidate for the following position:

Database Administrator (Inhouse) 40-50K

Key Responsibilities

• Oracle-First Database Management & Consolidation: Design, deploy, and maintain core relational (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases, leading migration and consolidation efforts toward Oracle as the primary platform.
• Performance Optimization & High Availability: Continuously monitor database health and optimize queries, indexes, and schema design to handle high-volume payment processing with minimal latency.
• Data Security & PCI-DSS Compliance: Enforce robust security standards—including access controls, audit logging, data encryption (at rest and in transit), and PCI-DSS compliance—to protect payment data.
• Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Formulate, implement, and test reliable backup, recovery, and failover strategies to guarantee transaction integrity and zero data loss.
• Zero-Downtime Maintenance & Upgrades: Plan and execute regular database patches, upgrades, capacity scaling, and migrations with minimal impact on live payment services.
• Operations, Incident Response & Documentation: Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, establish comprehensive real-time monitoring and alerting, and create clear operational playbooks and technical guidance for engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

• Database Administration Experience: 4+ years of hands-on DBA experience managing mission-critical production environments, with primary expertise in Oracle Database (tuning, backup/recovery, security, and HA).
• Multi-Database Proficiency: Solid working experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and at least one NoSQL database (e.g., Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Cross-Database Migration Skills: Proven track record of planning and executing database migrations, specifically transitioning workloads from MySQL/PostgreSQL to Oracle.
• Advanced SQL & Schema Design: Advanced proficiency in SQL tuning, query optimization, stored procedures, data modeling, and schema design optimized for transaction processing.
• Security & Infrastructure Expertise: Deep knowledge of database security protocols, Linux/Unix administration, shell scripting for automation, and familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud deployments.
• Incident Management & Collaboration: Strong problem-solving skills for rapid incident resolution under pressure, backed by excellent technical documentation and communication capabilities.
