Database Administrator

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain production databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
• Perform daily tasks: backups, restores, upgrades, patching, and data migrations
• Implement indexes and optimize query performance
• Set up and monitor database health checks and alerting
• Manage Linux servers hosting the databases
• Set up and manage Alicloud and AWS database services (RDS, ElastiCache, EC2, etc.)
• Support High Availability and Disaster Recovery setups
• Review DDL and DML changes from application teams, perform impact analysis, and fine-tune queries before deployment
• Automate repetitive tasks using shell and Python scripts
• Contribute to building AI-powered automation for DBA workflows (e.g., LLM-assisted query analysis, incident triage, runbook generation, anomaly detection)
• Participate in architecture discussions and evaluate new database technologies

Job Requirement :

• Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
• At least 1 year hands-on experience as database administrator in production.
• Preferably candidates who are proficient in at least one of: MongoDB, MySQL, or Redis
• Proficient in writing and debugging SQL — DDL, DML, stored procedures, and functions
• Strong scripting experience in Unix/Shell Scripting and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Services
• Comfortable administering Linux servers
• Strong troubleshooting skills and solid documentation habits
• Curious about AI-assisted tooling (e.g., using AI for operations, working with LLM APIs, experimenting with MCP servers)
• Experience with ClickHouse, Aerospike, or other specialized databases is a plus
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) is a plus
• Prefer candidates who can speak basic mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
