About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Database Administrator to manage, optimize and secure both relational and non-relational databases. You'll bring strong production experience, performance tuning, high availability setups and cloud-based database solutions, and you'll work on high-scale, high-throughput systems.

What You'll Do

Database Management

• Install, configure and administer Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL
• Manage NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra and DynamoDB
• Handle provisioning, upgrades, patching and migrations

Performance & Reliability

• Analyze and optimize slow queries, indexes and database workloads
• Tune performance at the database, query and infrastructure levels
• Proactively monitor performance and implement improvements

High Availability & Scalability

• Design and implement HA/DR solutions (replication, clustering, Always On, Data Guard, streaming replication)
• Keep systems highly available, scalable and resilient
• Contribute to capacity planning and scaling strategies

Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Design, implement and validate backup and recovery strategies
• Plan and test disaster recovery
• Ensure RPO/RTO requirements are met

Security & Compliance

• Manage database security: roles, access control and encryption
• Ensure compliance with data protection and governance standards
• Run regular audits and vulnerability assessments

Cloud & Automation

• Work on cloud platforms, preferably AWS (RDS, Aurora, EC2-hosted databases)
• Automate routine DBA tasks with Shell, Python and PowerShell
• Support infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices

Collaboration & Support

• Partner with development and DevOps teams on schema design and deployments
• Support CI/CD pipelines involving database changes
• Provide L2/L3 support for production issues and incidents

Good to Have

• DBA certifications (Oracle, Microsoft, PostgreSQL)
