About the Role

You’ll join a small, skilled DBA team responsible for creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server environments across multiple networks and architectures. The role spans both on-premise datacenter deployments and cloud-hosted databases, with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and automation. You’ll have real ownership over day-to-day database operations and the opportunity to shape how the team works.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances across on-premise and cloud environments
• Monitor and tune database performance, including index management and query optimization
• Troubleshoot issues affecting database instances and connected applications
• Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability
• Apply patches and updates to SQL Server environments on schedule
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual, repetitive tasks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database-dependent systems and missions

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting MS SQL Server databases
• Experience with index management and database performance tuning
• Experience troubleshooting SQL Server instances and application-level issues
• Experience with database backup and recovery processes

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of AWS services, specifically RDS
• PowerShell and/or Python scripting for task automation
• Experience with Commvault backup solutions
• Knowledge of SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups / Clustering
• Familiarity with Windows Event Log filtering and Windows Task Scheduler
• Experience supporting SharePoint implementations
