Job Summary

Spark Techwave InnovationZ Pvt Ltd is looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, secure, and optimize enterprise database environments.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, database security, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and/or PostgreSQL is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems.
• Administer production, development, and test database environments.
• Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and health.
• Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
• Analyze and troubleshoot database performance issues.
• Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies.
• Perform database backup, restore, and recovery operations.
• Implement and maintain database security and access controls.
• Create and manage database users, roles, and permissions.
• Monitor database storage and capacity requirements.
• Perform database upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
• Support database migrations and environment changes.
• Troubleshoot database connectivity and application-related database issues.
• Monitor database jobs, alerts, logs, and scheduled activities.
• Implement high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
• Perform database health checks and preventive maintenance.
• Work with application, development, infrastructure, and cloud teams to resolve database issues.
• Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and recovery plans.
• Participate in production deployments and incident-resolution activities.
• Ensure databases meet organizational security, availability, and performance requirements.

Required Skills

Database Administration

Strong knowledge of one or more:

• Oracle

Backup & Recovery

Hands-on experience with:

• Full and incremental backups
• Backup validation
• Database restoration
• Point-in-time recovery
• Recovery procedures
• Disaster recovery planning

Performance Tuning

Experience with:

• Query optimization
• Execution plans
• Index optimization
• SQL performance analysis
• Database configuration
• CPU and memory analysis
• I/O performance
• Locking and blocking
• Deadlock troubleshooting

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

Knowledge of:

• High Availability
• Replication
• Failover
• Disaster Recovery
• Database clustering
• Standby databases

Experience with technologies such as:

• Oracle Data Guard
• SQL Server Always On
• MySQL Replication
• PostgreSQL Streaming Replication

will be an advantage.

Database Security

• User and role management
• Access control

• Auditing
• Security best practices
• Database vulnerability remediation

Cloud Database – Good to Have

Experience with cloud database services such as:

AWS

• Amazon RDS
• Aurora
• Redshift

Microsoft Azure

• Azure SQL Database

Google Cloud

• Cloud SQL

Automation & Scripting

Knowledge of scripting/automation using:

• SQL
• Shell scripting
• PowerShell

Experience automating database maintenance and monitoring tasks is an advantage.

• Other database monitoring platforms

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in:

Candidates should have strong hands-on experience administering at least one enterprise database platform.
