Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) responsible for the administration, performance, security, availability, and maintenance of enterprise databases. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Sybase and SQL databases, database monitoring and optimization, backup and recovery, and high-availability environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and overall health.
• Perform database backup, restoration, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Conduct database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
• Manage database security, user access, roles, permissions, and authentication.
• Perform database upgrades, patches, migrations, and system maintenance.
• Develop and maintain database standards, procedures, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot database-related incidents and provide timely resolution.
• Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, infrastructure teams, and other IT stakeholders to support applications and business requirements.
• Ensure databases comply with security, operational, and organizational standards.
• Conduct regular database health checks and recommend improvements.
• Support database-related projects, system implementations, and technical initiatives.
• Participate in on-call or after-hours support when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar database-focused role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Sybase ASE and/or Sybase IQ.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL.
• Proficient in SQL scripting, database queries, stored procedures, views, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of database security, access management, and auditing.
• Experience troubleshooting database performance and connectivity issues.
• Familiarity with high-availability and disaster recovery concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Pay: Php60,000.00 - Php70,000.00 per month
