Database Administrator

Vertica is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to support database operations, performance, security, and availability. The ideal candidate will help maintain database environments, troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and work with technical teams to ensure reliable access to business data.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and monitor database systems.
• Manage database performance, availability, and reliability.
• Monitor database activity and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Perform database backups, recovery, and maintenance tasks.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and database security.
• Assist with database upgrades and system migrations.
• Identify and resolve database errors and connectivity issues.
• Maintain database documentation and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers, and IT teams.
• Follow company security, backup, and data-management procedures.

Requirements

• Experience in database administration or a related technical role.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Familiarity with database backup, recovery, and performance monitoring.
• Understanding of database security and access controls.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to document technical procedures clearly.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant database certification or technical training is a plus.
