About the role

As a Database Support Engineer at Fortis Technologies Corporation, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimising the company's database infrastructure. Key responsibilities

• Providing technical support and troubleshooting for the company's database management systems
• Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency
• Designing and implementing database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and address database-related requirements
• Documenting database processes and procedures to maintain consistency and knowledge sharing
• Staying up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices, and recommending improvements

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in database administration and support, preferably in an enterprise-level environment
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database query optimisation
• Experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
• Familiarity with database backup, recovery, and high availability strategies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders
