Database Administrator (Db2)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (Db2) to provide technical advice and support on database design, configuration, tuning, and ongoing enhancements for enterprise mission-critical systems. This position involves close collaboration with contractors, supervising SIT/UAT activities, and ensuring optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Design & Configuration: Provide technical advice and support on Db2 database architecture, design, and configuration.
• Performance Tuning: Perform database performance tuning, SQL query optimization, and system performance enhancements.
• Vendor & Project Oversight: Review deliverables, monitor contractor performance, and collaborate on technical issue diagnosis and resolution.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Supervise and provide technical direction for System Integration Tests (SITs) and User Acceptance Tests (UATs).
• System Support: Maintain system stability, execute routine DBA administrative tasks, and perform database upgrades or migrations.

Must-Have Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on Db2 Database Administration experience.
• At least 2 years of solid SQL experience.
• Proven track record in implementing and administering databases for mission-critical systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in database performance tuning and SQL query tuning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience managing vendor/contractor technical deliverables.
• Good communication skills for cross-team and vendor coordination.
