Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to Development and System Engineer teams on SQL tuning, database design, and data access issues.
• Manage database installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance across multiple database platforms.
• Perform database performance tuning, including SQL query optimization, troubleshooting, and resolving database-related issues.
• Manage daily database operations, including issue resolution, monitoring, reporting, resource utilization, and task scheduling.
• Review and ensure compliance with database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and security policies.
• Perform preventive maintenance, database housekeeping, backup, and recovery activities to ensure system reliability and availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Database Administration with strong knowledge of RDBMS technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Good understanding of database architecture, design, and overall database environment management.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Experience with SQL query tuning, database performance optimization, and troubleshooting using common database tuning tools.
• Solid understanding of database backup, recovery strategies, and replication configurations.
• Experience with database monitoring tools and performance management.
• Knowledge of Procedural SQL and client data access technologies.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
