Database Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions.
• Develop complex SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, and performance-optimized database solutions.
• Work with databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, IBM DB2, and ClickHouse.
• Develop and maintain ETL workflows using Pentaho and other data integration technologies.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and loading from multiple source systems.
• Integrate data from HES, MDMS, billing systems, ERP systems, IoT platforms, and other utility applications.
• Work closely with application, business, and product teams to understand data requirements and develop appropriate data solutions.
• Optimize database queries, ETL processes, and data pipelines for performance and scalability.
• Support data migration, data quality, reconciliation, and troubleshooting activities.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong hands-on experience in SQL and PL/SQL.
• Strong experience with Oracle Database.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with ETL / Data Integration.
• Hands-on experience with Pentaho.
• Experience with ClickHouse and/or other analytical databases.
• Experience with IBM DB2.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, data transformation, and data quality.
• Experience working with HES (Head-End Systems) and/or MDMS (Meter Data Management Systems).
• Strong understanding of the Utility domain Electricity, Water, or Gas.
• Exposure to Java and/or Python for data engineering and integration.
• Exposure to Cloud technologies and IoT platforms.
