Database Expert

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Database Expert (M/F) to join Vissim's Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining reliable database solutions that support our software products within the offshore energy industry. You will contribute to database architecture, performance, security, and modernization initiatives while collaborating closely with development and operations teams.

Place of work also in Liptovsky Mikulas. The minimum gross monthly base salary for this position is €2,800, with the final offer adjusted based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Design, implement, and maintain database solutions for Vissim products and services.

· Ensure database availability, reliability, scalability, and data integrity.

· Monitor and optimize database performance, queries, indexes, and configurations.

· Implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.

· Manage database security, access controls, auditing, and compliance requirements.

· Support database deployments, upgrades, migrations, and release processes.

· Automate database administration, monitoring, and maintenance activities.

· Troubleshoot database incidents, performance issues, and application-related problems.

· Collaborate with software engineering teams on data models, database design, and best practices.

· Define and maintain database standards, documentation, and operational procedures.

· Contribute to database technology strategy, modernization, and continuous improvement.

𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦

· Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

· Experience: 3+ years of experience in database administration, engineering, or a similar role

· Strong experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle

· Experience with database design, data modeling, indexing, and query optimization

· Knowledge of backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions

· Understanding of database security, access management, and data protection principles

· Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar

· Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools

· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

· Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering and operations teams

· Professional working proficiency in English

· Experience with Microsoft Azure database services and cloud database platforms

· Knowledge of database automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code practices

· Experience with large-scale, distributed, or highly available systems

· Knowledge of NoSQL databases and search engines is an advantage

· Relevant database or cloud certifications
