Database Reliability Engineer

DB Engineer / DevOps Engineer — PostgreSQL, Azure

100% Remote | 6-Month Contract

Our client, a global technology and engineering organisation, is looking for a DB Engineer/DevOps Engineer to join a fast-paced cloud infrastructure team on a 6-month contract basis. This is a fully remote position.

Role Overview

You'll take ownership of database engineering and DevOps practices across a cloud-native environment, with a particular focus on PostgreSQL performance, reliability, and automation within Azure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and optimise PostgreSQL databases in production environments
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation on Azure
• Manage containerised workloads using Kubernetes
• Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement tuning improvements
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure
• Support deployment processes and drive infrastructure automation best practices

Requirements

• Proven experience as a DB Engineer and/or DevOps Engineer
• Strong hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL (administration, optimisation, troubleshooting)
• Solid experience with Microsoft Azure (cloud infrastructure, deployment, and management)
• Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote setup
