Database Researcher

We're looking for a Database Researcher to join us on a contract basis. This role is about finding, verifying and organizing information that our team relies on every day. Building and maintaining accurate, well-structured datasets from a mix of internal records and external sources. It suits someone methodical who enjoys chasing down a detail until it's right, works well without close supervision but also well with a team.

Scope

• Search internal databases, public registers and online sources to gather information for active research projects
• Verify and cross-check records against at least two sources before entering them
• Enter, update and clean records in our database, keeping formatting consistent
• Flag duplicates, gaps and out-of-date entries, and fix them where possible
• Maintain simple spreadsheets and trackers showing research progress
• Write short summaries of what you found for the team
• Follow data handling and privacy procedures, and keep confidential information secure

Requirements

• Confident with spreadsheets — Excel, including sorting, filtering, basic formulas (SUM, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) and pivot tables
• Comfortable using databases and online search tools; able to learn new systems quickly
• Strong attention to detail and a habit of double-checking your own work
• Clear written English for notes and summaries
• Able to work independently, manage your own time and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Reliable internet connection and your own computer.

Nice to have

• Experience with a CRM or database platform (Airtable, Salesforce, Access or similar)
• Basic SQL, or willingness to learn simple queries
• Experience handling sensitive or personal data
