Wiki Labs is a technology services company delivering enterprise infrastructure and managed operations for leading organizations across Southeast Asia. We are currently seeking an experienced Databases L2 Engineer to be deployed to one of our Tier 1 banking clients, responsible for both platform implementation and ongoing managed operations.

Role Overview

As a Databases L2 Engineer, you will serve as a critical technical escalation point, managing complex database infrastructure within a highly regulated and mission-critical financial environment. While you will support a diverse technology stack, your primary focus will be driving the stability, performance, and architecture of EDB/PostgreSQL and Redis environments. Working closely with client stakeholders and internal technical teams, you will ensure seamless platform implementation, continuous uptime, and vulnerability remediation.

Key Responsibilities

• Managed Operations & L2 Support: Provide Level 2 incident resolution, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis, acting as the primary subject matter expert for EDB/PostgreSQL and Redis platforms.
• Performance Tuning & Optimization: Deep-dive into EDB and Redis performance metrics, optimizing complex queries, memory management, and connection pool configurations for peak efficiency.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Architect, manage, and monitor high-availability clustering for EDB Postgres and Redis, alongside replication setups across the wider database ecosystem (including Oracle GoldenGate).
• Platform Implementation & Administration: Deploy, configure, and upgrade database systems across both Linux (RHEL, Solaris) and Windows environments.
• Security & Compliance: Execute security hardening, apply OS and database patches, and ensure strict compliance with banking regulatory standards and CIS benchmarks.
• Application & Developer Support: Collaborate with application development teams, providing backend database support and guidance for both modern and legacy programming environments.

Technical Requirements

High-Priority Core Focus

• EDB / PostgreSQL: Deep expertise in EDB Postgres Advanced Server and open-source PostgreSQL. Must have hands-on experience with advanced administration, performance tuning, and clustering.
• Redis: Strong proficiency in managing Redis as an enterprise in-memory data store, with proven experience in Redis high-availability configuration, session management, and caching optimization.

Additional Database & Infrastructure Skills

• Relational & NoSQL Databases: Solid operational knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, and MongoDB.
• Replication & Integration: Hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate.
• Operating Systems: Strong system administration skills in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Solaris, and Windows Server.
• Scripting: Advanced proficiency in BASH and SQL for task automation and data manipulation.

Legacy Programming & Developer Environment Support Candidate must be capable of supporting underlying databases interacting with applications built in the following environments:

• Programming Languages: C++, C#, Java.
• Development Environments: Microsoft Visual Studio, Android Studio.
• Graphics & Game Engines (Legacy/Specialized Support): OpenGL, GLSL, SDL2, Unity Engine.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven track record in enterprise database administration within the Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI) sector.
• Experience managing production environments with strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and decisive during high-pressure infrastructure incidents.
• Excellent communication skills for client-facing interactions and cross-team collaboration.
