Job Requirement

Role Summary

We are looking for a Databricks Apps Developer to design, develop, deploy and support secure data applications on the Databricks platform. The role will cover Databricks Apps, MIS and operational reporting interfaces, Lakehouse data integration, application security, deployment automation and production support.

Databricks Apps supports Python and Node.js development using frameworks such as Streamlit, Dash, Gradio, React and Express. Applications can connect to Databricks SQL and Unity Catalog-governed data and use OAuth-based authentication.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop user-facing applications using Databricks Apps.
• Build MIS, reporting, workflow, data-entry and operational interfaces.
• Develop frontend components using Streamlit, Dash, Gradio or React.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python, Flask, FastAPI, Node.js or Express.
• Connect applications to Databricks SQL Warehouses, Delta Lake tables and Unity Catalog.
• Implement parameterised SQL queries, filters, drill-downs, exports and data-entry workflows.
• Integrate applications with Databricks Jobs, Workflows, APIs, Model Serving and external services.
• Implement application-level and user-level authentication using OAuth and service principals.
• Ensure that applications respect Unity Catalog permissions, row-level filters and column masking.
• Configure application resources, environment variables, secrets, permissions and network connectivity.
• Develop unit tests, integration tests and security validations.
• Deploy applications across Development, UAT and Production environments.
• Establish CI/CD using Git, Databricks CLI and Databricks Asset Bundles.
• Monitor application logs, performance, usage, failures and compute consumption.
• Troubleshoot Databricks Apps, MIS reports, SQL queries, APIs and application-performance issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Prepare technical design, deployment, support and operational documentation.
• Work with business, MIS, data engineering, governance, security and infrastructure teams.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with Databricks Apps or application development on Databricks.
• Streamlit, Dash, Gradio, Flask or FastAPI.
• Strong SQL and Databricks SQL experience.
• Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture.
• Unity Catalog, permissions and data governance.
• Databricks SDK, CLI and REST APIs.
• OAuth 2.0, service principals and role-based access control.
• Git and CI/CD deployment practices.
• HTML, CSS and JavaScript fundamentals.
• Application logging, debugging and performance tuning.
• Experience working with AWS-hosted Databricks environments.

Preferred Skills

• React, Angular, Svelte, Node.js or Express.
• MIS and regulatory-reporting application development.
• Databricks Workflows and Jobs.
• AI/BI Dashboards and Genie integration.
• Model Serving, Vector Search or RAG application development.
