Data Engineer (Databricks) | B2B Contract | 12+ Months | Remote | €200/day

I'm hiring a Data Engineer for a B2B contract on an enterprise data platform project, built on Databricks.

📅 ASAP start, through 31 December 2027, with an option to extend

⏱️ B2B contract, approx. 40 hours/week

What you'll be doing

You'll be building a scalable data platform in Databricks from the ground up, integrating data into an enterprise-wide data lake using a Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold), and developing the ETL/ELT pipelines that sit behind it. You'll also contribute to access control models and help drive continuous ingestion and continuous development practices across the project.

Key skills

• Several years of hands-on experience delivering data engineering solutions in Databricks
• Data modelling, ETL and orchestration of data loading processes
• In-depth understanding of layered data models, such as Medallion architecture
• Experience designing authorisation and access control models
• Knowledge of continuous ingestion / continuous development practices
• Strong understanding of modern data platform concepts
• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Understanding of IT service management processes (ITIL)
• Experience working in agile projects, particularly Scrum
• A structured, solution-oriented approach, with excellent communication and facilitation skills

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure in the context of Databricks and data engineering
• Databricks Professional Certifications
• Experience with machine learning and LLMs in Databricks
• Proficiency in Jira and Confluence
• Good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
• Very good written and spoken German
