Datacenter Technician

Akkodis is seeking a Data Center Technician for a Contract opportunity with a client in Fort Wayne , IN (onsite).

Terms:

Rate Range: $25/hour to $26/hour (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic cable remediation and install grounding connectors.
• Follow detailed technical procedures and safety guidelines.
• Use basic hand tools and approved equipment.
• Work across multiple data center buildings as required.
• Safely handle fiber cables, connectors, and related hardware.
• Document completed work using computer-based tracking systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate project progress, issues, and completion status to team leads.
• Support additional infrastructure and preventative maintenance activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in data centers, structured cabling, telecommunications, hardware installation, or a hands-on technical environment preferred.
• Comfortable using basic hand tools.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer skills, including email and web applications.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive hands-on tasks.
