Day Camp Director

Overview

The Camp Connect Director is a part-time hourly position with full-time hours for the summer months. The Camp Connect Director has a primary role in leading Camp Connect from June through August 2027, as well as two side projects in November-December and April-May . This role requires staff management, teaching, facilitating ministry environments, and elements of administration for multiple age groups with a gospel-centered approach. This role also includes integration with the pastoral team as we look for effective ways to engage families and parents. As a result, this position requires a team-oriented individual.

Responsibilities

● Oversee day-to-day operations of the camp with the Pastor of Students and Family Engagement.

● Coordinate with Pastoral Staff to ensure a safe environment for campers and staff.

● Coordinate with Pastoral Staff in helping to manage relationships with vendors, including food suppliers, activity providers, and other contractors.

● Coordinate day camp field trips.

● Develop and oversee camp staff.

● Assist in planning and implementing the camp program on a weekly basis.

● Meet as needed with the Pastor of Students and Family Engagement or another member of the pastoral staff.

● Assist in developing and training camp staff, including developing a camp handbook

Requirements

• Must be willing to align with the current direction of the Lancaster Alliance Church and be supportive of the vision and direction of the current leadership.
• Must evidence a growing walk with Christ aligned with passages such as Galatians 5:22-23.
• Must have a desire to see the next generation and their families reached and transformed by the power of the Gospel.
• Must be others-focused and intentional about working with unchurched families.
• Must be gifted in administration, communication, and care with students in K-5th grade and their families.
• A degree in education is preferred; however, individuals with ministry degrees or on track with education or ministry degrees, as well as experience, will be seriously considered.
• Must be able to interact with online platforms such as Funjoin, the CampApp.
• Proven experience working with children in educational or recreational settings; camp experience is highly preferred
• Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to handle behavioral challenges effectively
• Valid certifications in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and first aid protocols; additional certifications in outdoor work safety or childhood development are a plus
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team of staff and volunteers
• Experience in outdoor work environments involving active supervision of children in various settings
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
