Day Care Assistant

We are looking for a kind, caring and dependable Day Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Sycamore Lodge. As a small residential home caring for just 17 residents, our staff are able to to get to know each resident personally and provide care in a warm, homely and supportive environment.

THE ROLE

Providing personal care while maintaining residents' dignity, privacy and independence.

Assisting residents with washing, dressing, toileting and other personal care needs where required.

Supporting residents with meals, drinks and mobility.

Spending time talking with residents and encouraging social interaction.

Helping with activities and encouraging residents to take part according to their individual interests and choices.

Observing residents wellbeing and reporting any concerns or changes to the Senior Carer or Manager.

Completing appropriate care records.

Helping to maintain residents bedrooms and communal areas to a good standard.

Working together with colleagues to create a happy, welcoming and positive atmosphere within the home.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Kind, patient and genuinely interested in caring for older people.

Reliable and able to work well as part of a small team.

Respectful of residents individual wishes, dignity and independence.

Willingness to undertake appropriate training and development.

Previous care experience is welcomed, although applicants with the right attitude and willingness to learn will also be considered.

PAY AND DEVELOPMENT

Our starting rate is £12.75 per hour, with the opportunity to progress through our pay structure as you gain experience, complete training and qualifications, and take on additional responsibilities. Applicants who already have relevant care qualifications and/or good previous care experience will be considered for a higher starting rate within our pay scale. After 3 months of completing training and probation period, rate of pay will increase to the next pay grade.
