Day Porter Janitor

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Day Porter Janitor to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facility throughout the day. This vital role ensures a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and clients by performing routine cleaning tasks, managing custodial responsibilities, and supporting facilities maintenance. Porter duties and responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of a porter vary depending on the specific organization they work for and the size and type of facility they are responsible for. In general, porters are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of buildings and facilities.

• Cleaning and maintaining common areas, such as lobbies, restrooms, and elevators
• Monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the facility
• Performing light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and painting
• Monitoring the security of the facility and reporting any maintenance or security issues to management
• Responding to requests from tenants or guests for assistance or information
• Managing the disposal of trash and recycling
• Monitoring the inventory of supplies and ordering new supplies as needed
• Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Familiarity with cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures is highly desirable.
• Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers or industrial vacuums is a plus.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and moving supplies or equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in busy environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude are essential for interacting professionally with staff and visitors.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
