Day Porter Janitor

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Day Porter to join our dynamic facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of commercial and residential spaces. Duties

• Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across various areas, including floors, restrooms, lobbies, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following all chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a secure environment for yourself and others.
• Conduct custodial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and sanitation to uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, safety inspections, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to requests or concerns from staff or visitors, fostering a positive environment.

Skills

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience with knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and equipment operation.
• Strong understanding of chemical agent handling safety procedures combined with experience in sanitation and industrial cleaning.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices; physically capable of manual handling tasks throughout shifts.
• Familiarity with floor care techniques including buffing, polishing, and floor buffers to maintain pristine surfaces.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients or team members.
• Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while working in environments that require chemical handling safety procedures.
