Duties

• Prepare ingredients and doughs for baking, adhering strictly to recipes and portion sizes
• Bake a wide range of baked goods including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies with consistency and flair
• Decorate cakes and pastries using various techniques to meet presentation standards
• Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and slicing machines safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following food safety protocols at all times
• Package baked goods carefully for sale or delivery while ensuring freshness and quality
• Assist in food preparation tasks related to catering or high-volume production needs

Skills

• Proven pastry preparation and baking experience in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knife skills and dough handling techniques
• Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to follow detailed recipes accurately while maintaining efficiency in high-volume settings
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards colleagues and clients
• Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and managing inventory
• Experience with cake decorating, food presentation, and packaging techniques
• Understanding of food industry standards, culinary best practices, and catering or restaurant experience is preferred
