Daycare Assistant

Job Summary

We're a brand-new, NYS licensed Group Family Daycare in Patchogue. Our goal is to combine the warmth and personal connections of a small daycare with the structure, professionalism, and educational focus of a larger center. Our program operates in a purpose built classroom that is separate from our home.

We are currently hiring two part-time Assistant Teachers:

• One position: 3 days per week (30 hours/week)
• One position: 2 days per week (20 hours/week)
• Opportunities to substitute for additional hours.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for infants and toddlers.
• Supervise children at all times while maintaining NYS OCFS health and safety standards.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, handwashing, feeding, and other daily care routines.
• Engage children in age-appropriate play, learning activities, outdoor play, and circle time.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized classroom throughout the day.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with families during drop-off and pick-up.
• Perform other childcare-related duties necessary to support the daily operation of the program.

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting is highly preferred
• Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education practices, and classroom management techniques
• Familiarity with toddler care, infant care, and preschool activities enhances your ability to support diverse age groups
• Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration
• Ability to follow safety protocols diligently and adhere to childcare licensing regulations

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
