Daycare Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our childcare center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster positive developmental experiences, promote learning through play, and build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff. Duties

• Supervise and engage children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Assist lead teachers with implementing age-appropriate curriculum activities focused on childhood development and learning milestones
• Support children with daily routines such as diapering, feeding, nap times, and potty training as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes safety and encourages exploration
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily experiences
• Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child safety or welfare promptly
• Support classroom management strategies to foster positive behavior and social skills among children

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of child development instruction and early childhood education principles
• Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
• Certification in first aid, CPR, pediatric first aid or related health safety training
• Understanding of mandated reporting laws and child supervision best practices
• Previous experience caring for infants and toddlers in daycare or similar environments is advantageous

Pay: $15.10 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 29.0 per week
