Daycare Assistant

Overview

As a Daycare Assistant, you’ll help create a safe, welcoming environment where infants, toddlers, and young children can learn and thrive. You’ll support daily childcare routines, encourage age-appropriate development, and work closely with teachers and families. Your impact: attentive supervision and responsive care help children feel secure and give families confidence in their child’s day.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during play, meals, rest, and transitions, following classroom safety and childcare procedures.
• Assist with child development instruction, early learning activities, and positive classroom and behavior management.
• Support infant care, toddler care, and preschool routines, adapting activities to children’s developmental needs.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers about daily routines, observations, and concerns.
• Follow applicable mandated reporting laws and promptly share safety or well-being concerns with the appropriate staff.

Requirements

• Experience working with children through daycare, daycare center, preschool, classroom, nannying, babysitting, or other caregiving settings is helpful.
• Knowledge of childhood development and early childhood education; teaching experience with young children or experience working with students is a plus.
• First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills, including pediatric first aid, are preferred.
• Experience with special education or working with individuals with disabilities is valued.
• Strong child supervision skills, patience, and clear communication; teaching, classroom management, and behavior management experience are beneficial.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
