Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Daycare Cook to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, delicious meals that meet the dietary needs of young children. Your culinary expertise will help foster healthy eating habits while ensuring food safety and quality standards are maintained. Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks tailored to the dietary requirements of children up to age five
• Plan menus that incorporate nutritious ingredients and adhere to dietary guidelines
• Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, and food processors efficiently and safely
• Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and food production methods
• Assist with food presentation and portioning to ensure appealing meals for young children
• Maintain accurate records of food inventory, meal production, and sanitation practices

Requirements

• Previous experience as a dietary aide or in a similar food service role, preferably within childcare or food establishments
• Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and catering experience
• Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a professional kitchen environment
• Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in food handling across different cooking methods
• Experience with food industry standards related to high-volume production and food safety regulations
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food production and meal service
• A positive attitude with a passion for working with children and contributing to their health through nutritious meals

Pay: $10.75 - $11.50 per hour
