Daycare Cook

The Cook will play a vital role in the success of our center by serving as a positive role model as well as creating meaningful relationships and being a supportive resource for our students, families, and their team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals and snacks in accordance with Child Care Food Program requirements.
• Complete required food program paperwork, including meal counts and production records.
• Work with the School Director to order food and maintain adequate inventory.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and storage areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Monitor and report any kitchen equipment or maintenance concerns.
• Accommodate approved food allergies and dietary needs.
• Interact positively and appropriately with children and staff.
• Maintain all required state licensing qualifications and complete required training.
• Contribute to a positive, cooperative, and professional school environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, safety, and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow recipes, meal plans, and dietary guidelines
• Ability to maintain accurate food program records and documentation
• Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently
• Must meet all applicable state licensing requirements and complete required training
• Must be able to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
• **Strict Legal Requirements (Non-Negotiable):**To work in our facility, North Carolina childcare regulations require you to have these items completed before your first day on the job:
• Active NC DCDEE Criminal Background Qualification Letter (You must hold this valid letter prior to starting work or training in the building).

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
