Stepping Stones Early Childcare is a small, locally owned center with a close-knit team and a family-like atmosphere. We're looking for a dependable, positive, and flexible Float Teacher to join our team!

As a Float Teacher, you'll have the opportunity to work with children of different ages, from 6 weeks to 4 years old, supporting our classrooms wherever an extra set of hands (and a big heart!) is needed. Whether you're snuggling babies, exploring with toddlers, or encouraging preschoolers' independence, you'll play an important role in keeping our days running smoothly.

A Day in the Life

No two days are ever the same! Depending on the needs of our classrooms, you might spend your day:

• Providing nurturing care and engaging in age-appropriate activities with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
• Reading books, singing songs, creating art, and encouraging learning through play.
• Supporting Lead Teachers with classroom activities, transitions, and daily routines.
• Assisting with diaper changes, potty training, handwashing, and other personal care needs.
• Preparing and serving snacks and meals.
• Heading outside for fresh air, playground adventures, and exploration.
• Helping children navigate big emotions, develop friendships, and celebrate milestones.
• Maintaining clean, organized, and safe classroom environments.
• Stepping into different classrooms throughout the day to provide coverage for breaks, staff absences, and other classroom needs.
• Working collaboratively with our teaching team to ensure every child feels safe, loved, and supported.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

• Has a positive, patient, and nurturing personality.
• Enjoys working with children of all ages, from infants through preschoolers.
• Is flexible, adaptable, and comfortable transitioning between classrooms and age groups.
• Is dependable and reliable, understanding how important consistent staffing is to our children and team.
• Takes initiative and can recognize where help is needed without always being asked.
• Works well with others and enjoys being part of a supportive, collaborative team.
• Communicates professionally and positively with families, coworkers, and leadership.
• Has knowledge of (or is willing to learn) Wisconsin DCF licensing regulations, child-to-staff ratios, and age-appropriate care practices.
• Has a high school diploma or GED.
• Has or is willing to obtain CPR certification.

Previous childcare experience is a plus, but a great attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine love for children are just as important!

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
