DB2 Database Administrator

At TMC , we are looking for an experienced DB2 Database Administrator to join a challenging enterprise environment, supporting critical business applications and ensuring the performance, security and availability of database platforms.

🎯 Your Role

As a DB2 Database Administrator , you will be responsible for the administration, optimization and continuous improvement of DB2 database environments.

Key responsibilities include:

✅ Installing, configuring and maintaining IBM DB2 databases

✅ Monitoring database performance and optimizing queries and resources

✅ Managing backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes

✅ Performing database upgrades, patches and migrations

✅ Ensuring database security, compliance and access management

✅ Troubleshooting incidents and resolving performance bottlenecks

✅ Supporting development and application teams in database-related activities

✅ Implementing high-availability and business continuity solutions

✅ Documenting procedures, configurations and operational processes

🔹 What We're Looking For

✔️ 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator

✔️ Strong hands-on experience with IBM DB2 administration

✔️ Experience in database monitoring, tuning and performance optimization

✔️ Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies

✔️ Experience with database migrations, upgrades and patching activities

✔️ Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments

✔️ Knowledge of SQL and database troubleshooting techniques

✔️ Experience supporting production-critical environments

✔️ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

⭐ Nice to Have

• Experience with DB2 HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery)

• Knowledge of shell scripting or automation tools

• Experience with other database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL

• Exposure to cloud environments and hybrid infrastructures

• Knowledge of ITIL processes and enterprise support models
