Salary: CDI - 64.000€ to 75.000€ gross

B2B - 475€ to 575€/day

DBT Analytics Engineer

Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid)

We are looking for a DBT Analytics Engineer to join a high-impact data transformation initiative within an international environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and optimizing modern analytics transformation pipelines, ensuring data quality, scalability, and performance across enterprise-grade data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop transformation pipelines for scalable and reliable data workflows.

• Optimize the execution performance of dbt projects.

• Design, implement, and document data quality controls and validation tests within the dbt ecosystem.

• Set up automated regression testing and validation procedures for transformation outputs.

• Promote and share best practices for managing and evolving dbt projects.

• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable transformation pipelines.

• Produce technical documentation covering transformation logic, operational procedures, and migration decisions.

• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, business stakeholders, and platform teams in an international environment.

Required Skills

• Proven hands-on experience with dbt (preferably dbt Core) in production environments.

• Strong experience in Analytics Engineering and modern data modelling methodologies.

• Expertise in SQL , including complex transformations, incremental processing, and performance optimization.

• Experience developing PySpark transformation scripts for large-scale data processing.

• Solid understanding of Apache Spark , partitioning strategies, file layout optimization, and performance tuning.

• Experience working with Apache Iceberg tables and related concepts such as schema evolution, partition evolution, snapshot management, and time travel.

• Strong knowledge of data validation, reconciliation, and testing approaches.

• Experience with Git-based workflows , code reviews, release management, and CI/CD practices.

• Experience with orchestration and scheduling tools, particularly Dagster and Spark-based workloads.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience migrating legacy ETL processes from SAS to modern dbt and PySpark-based solutions.

• Experience working in multicultural and international environments.
