DC Tech Level 2

Role: DC Tech Level 2 Location: Atlanta, GA

Pay Rate: $35 $38/hr Position Overview Our client is seeking experienced DC Tech Level 2 professionals to support a large-scale data center environment for one of our clients.

The ideal candidates will have strong hands-on experience with rack-and-stack operations, server hardware installation, break-fix activities, network cabling, and troubleshooting enterprise data center infrastructure.

This role requires a detail-oriented technical professional who can independently diagnose hardware and system issues, perform mechanical assembly and disassembly, support GPU server configurations, and bring systems to a stable operational state.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rack, stack, installation, and deployment of critical data center equipment and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot common hardware and infrastructure issues, manage service tickets, and provide Level 1 administrative support for data center operations.
• Execute server break-fix activities, including mechanical assembly and disassembly, GPU tray installation, and hardware component replacement.
• Build and configure prototype open-board systems on the workbench and investigate technical issues reported by users.
• Triage and debug server systems, execute baseline diagnostics, and resolve issues preventing systems from passing validation.
• Perform cable installation, routing, dressing, and management to maintain organized, reliable data center connectivity.
• Support server configuration changes, hardware diagnostics, and infrastructure troubleshooting across large-scale, on-premises environments.
• Monitor system health, review logs, investigate disk failures, and execute basic UNIX/Linux administration tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience supporting large-scale, on-premises data centers.
• Strong practical experience in rack-and-stack operations, data center equipment installation, and infrastructure support.
• Solid understanding of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, space, and equipment requirements.
• Strong network cabling, cable routing, cable management, and cable dressing skills.
• Experience troubleshooting server hardware and network infrastructure, ideally involving Supermicro servers, InfiniBand fabrics, Mellanox networking equipment, and Arista hardware.
• Proficiency in UNIX/Linux administration, preferably Ubuntu or Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including command-line operations, log review, system monitoring, and disk failure troubleshooting.
• Hands-on server break-fix expertise, including mechanical assembly/disassembly, installation of heavy GPU trays, hardware configuration changes, and prototype system builds.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, independent problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.

Preferred Technical Background Candidates with experience supporting GPU-intensive computing environments, prototype server platforms, baseline diagnostic testing, and high-performance networking infrastructure will be well suited for this role.
