DCS Panelman (Control Room Operator)

About the role

RAINBOW PELLET SDN. BHD is seeking a skilled and attentive DCS Panelman (Control Room Operator) to join our production team. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Lipis, Pahang. As a DCS Panelman, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling our Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure smooth and efficient operations of our production processes. This role is critical to maintaining product quality, safety standards, and operational productivity across our manufacturing facility.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor DCS control panels and instrumentation to observe production processes and ensure all systems operate within specified parameters
• Respond promptly to alarms and alerts, troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective actions as necessary
• Adjust control settings and process parameters in accordance with standard operating procedures and production schedules
• Record operational data, readings, and any incidents in control room logs and systems
• Communicate with production teams, supervisors, and other operators to coordinate activities and relay important information
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on control systems and instrumentation
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies
• Support handover procedures at shift changes, ensuring incoming operators are fully briefed
• Identify and report potential equipment issues or safety hazards to supervisors

What we're looking for

• Minimum Sijil/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Process, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent vocational certificate with strong plant experience).
• Proven experience as a DCS Operator, Control Room Operator, or similar role in a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and industrial automation equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and process flow charts
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to monitor multiple parameters simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to operational issues
• Solid communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to manufacturing environments
• Ability to work on a shift basis, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required
• Basic computer literacy and proficiency with control systems software
• Relevant certifications in industrial control systems or process operations would be advantageous
