Debt Negotiation Specialist

About the role

Smile and Dial is a front-line debt negotiation position responsible for connecting with creditors and clients daily to resolve delinquent accounts. The role blends persuasive communication, financial literacy, and empathy — negotiating real outcomes for real people while keeping every call compliant and professional.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate with Creditors: Contact banks, lenders, collection agencies, and other creditors to settle debts, negotiate lower payoff amounts, reduce interest rates, or establish modified payment plans.
• Manage Accounts: Track case progress, document negotiation outcomes, and maintain accurate records within CRM systems.
• Ensure Compliance: Follow legal and regulatory standards governing debt collection and financial counseling throughout every interaction.
• Hit Targets: Perform consistently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment while maintaining call quality and client satisfaction.

About you

• Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to analyze financial data and craft strategic settlement solutions
• Working knowledge of credit reporting, debt collection laws, and financial regulations
• High attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
• Empathy, patience, and a strong customer-service orientation
• Comfort working in high-pressure, quota-driven environments
• Proficiency with CRM systems and standard office software
• Prior experience in customer service, collections, or a BPO environment (preferred)
• Experience working with or alongside law firms on debt negotiation matters (preferred)
