What they need
M/Y TITANIA is looking for a highly capable and hands-on Deckhand with strong carpentry and joinery skills to join our established deck team.
This is a varied role combining professional carpentry and joinery work with the day-to-day duties of the deck department. We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and is comfortable working in a hands-on, practical environment where attention to detail and a high standard of finish are essential.
Previous yacht experience is not required. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced carpenter or joiner looking to take their first step into the superyacht industry.
The role will include:
- General carpentry and joinery work throughout the vessel
- Repairs, maintenance and finishing of interior and exterior woodwork
- Varnishing, sanding, filling, staining, and touch-up work
- Assisting with deck maintenance and general upkeep
- Supporting mooring operations, tender operations, and general deck duties
- Maintaining tools, materials, and workshop areas to a high standard
- Assisting with projects, repairs and maintenance during both guest and shipyard periods
We are looking for someone with professional carpentry or joinery experience, ideally from a high-end environment such as luxury residential, marine, furniture, cabinetry, or bespoke joinery. A strong eye for detail and the ability to produce a high-quality finish are essential.
Maritime qualifications such as STCW, ENG1 and PDSD are not required at application stage, but successful candidates will be required to obtain these as part of joining the vessel.
Additional skills such as fibreglass work, painting, varnishing, teak work, caulking, basic engineering, water sports, or tender driving would be highly advantageous.
We are looking for someone who is hard-working, reliable, professional and a strong team player, with the flexibility to move between specialist carpentry work and the wider responsibilities of the deck department when required.
As part of the recruitment process, successful candidates will be required to complete a two-week trial onboard during one of the vessel's scheduled shipyard periods. This will provide an opportunity for the candidate to experience life onboard and for both the candidate and crew to assess suitability for the role.
Salary: €2,750–€3,100 per month*, dependent on experience, qualifications, and additional skills, plus tips (in the range of €50,000 to €100,000 per annum*).
*Please note that the net amount received will depend on the individual’s circumstances and applicable tax requirements.
