About the role

RVS CARGO SERVICES INC. is seeking a Declarant to join our freight and cargo forwarding operations in Binondo, Manila City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth movement of goods through customs and regulatory channels. As a Declarant, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate customs documentation and declarations on behalf of our clients, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements and facilitating timely cargo clearance. This position is integral to our operations, directly impacting our ability to meet client deadlines and maintain our reputation for reliable service in the freight forwarding industry.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations and documentation for export and import shipments
• Ensure all customs paperwork complies with Philippine Bureau of Customs regulations and international standards
• Liaise with customs officials, shipping lines, and warehouse operators to facilitate cargo clearance
• Review invoices, bills of lading, packing lists and other shipping documents for accuracy and completeness
• Calculate and manage duties, taxes and other charges associated with shipments
• Maintain detailed records of all declarations and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
• Communicate with clients regarding cargo status, customs requirements and any documentation needed
• Monitor changes in customs regulations and ensure procedures are updated accordingly
• Resolve discrepancies and issues with customs declarations in a timely manner
• Coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics partners to ensure seamless cargo movement

What we're looking for

• Valid Customs Broker License or Declarant Certification from the Philippine Bureau of Customs
• Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Declarant or in a similar customs clearance role
• In-depth knowledge of Philippine customs procedures, regulations and importrequirements
• Strong understanding of international freight forwarding, incoterms and shipping documentation
• Proficiency in customs management systems and cargo tracking software
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing technical documentation
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customs officials and clients
• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
• Knowledge of HS codes, tariff classifications and preferential trade agreements is advantageous
• Filipino language proficiency (written and verbal) is essential; English proficiency is required
