Are you passionate about justice and protecting the most vulnerable members of our community? Join our dedicated multidisciplinary team—which includes Law Enforcement, Child Protective Services, Medical, and Human Service agencies—as a Forensic Interviewer.
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for conducting specialized, developmentally appropriate, and research-based forensic interviews of children and adolescents (ages 2–17), as well as vulnerable adults, who are alleged victims or eyewitnesses to abuse and/or violence. Your expertise will be essential in eliciting accurate information and supporting official case reviews.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct and Coordinate Interviews: Schedule and conduct joint forensic interviews of alleged victims/witnesses on behalf of the multidisciplinary team, using research-based protocols and techniques.
- Documentation and Case Management: Maintain and update case files, video logs, and statistical tracking. Provide meticulous written documentation for case reviews.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participate in weekly Case Reviews and coordinate information with multi-disciplinary team members. Consult with team members as needed.
- Legal Proceedings: Participate in pre-trial interviews with legal counsel (prosecutors and defense attorneys). Provide professional testimony in criminal, dependency, civil, and family court proceedings regarding general interview processes and specific case interviews.
- Professional Development: Remain current on forensic interviewing research and the common characteristics of child sexual abuse. Participate in monthly Forensic Interviewer Peer Review sessions, including providing training on best practices.
What You'll Bring:
Education: A Master’s degree in Social Sciences with an emphasis in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment that included collaboration with Child Protective Services, Law Enforcement, and Human Services.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in forensic interviewing protocols and techniques with both children/adolescents and vulnerable adults.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- A strong commitment to ethical practice and trauma-informed care.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required)
If you are a highly skilled professional ready to make a significant impact in the pursuit of justice, we encourage you to apply. Your ability to connect with and support vulnerable individuals is our greatest asset.
