Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET

About the Role

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Default Servicing Processor for an onsite opportunity in Meriden, CT. This role supports foreclosure, bankruptcy, claims, and property preservation departments by handling default mail distribution, pre-foreclosure notices, document execution, payoffs, property evaluations, and cash processing.

This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review incoming mail for proper handling and distribution.
• Review and submit manual invoices for cash processing.
• Prepare and submit requests on payee headers for approval to department leadership.
• Process pre-foreclosure notices, manual demands, and state-specific requirements.
• Manage foreclosure document execution and collateral documents sent to assigned foreclosure firms.
• Complete process rails within the foreclosure management system.
• Handle payoff requests, ensuring final fees and costs are accurate and compliant with state regulations.
• Review and respond to default cash processing, including corporate advance re-classing, cash movements, adjustments, and liquidations.
• Maintain compliance with non-obligor system updates and year-end 1099 workstation completion.
• Assist with property evaluations and appraisal requests; facilitate orders through to completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of mortgage loan processing experience.
• Knowledge of mortgage banking practices and procedures, including familiarity with FHMLC, FNMA, VA, FHA, and GNMA guidelines.
• Experience with default servicing procedures preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain courteous, tactful, and assertive.
• Negotiation skills and effective problem-solving ability.
• Data entry proficiency with high attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with LPS servicing system preferred.
