Overview

This is an opportunity to support a significant Defence capability program as part of the Capability Sponsor and Operator community, shaping future logistics C4I-enabled operational capabilities.

Our client is seeking a Logistics Capability Analyst to support the development and maturation of logistics command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) capabilities within a complex Defence environment.

Working on behalf of the Capability Sponsor and Operator, the successful candidate will help bridge the gap between operational requirements and technical delivery teams. The role requires an individual who understands contemporary military operations, logistics planning and capability management, and can translate operational requirements into clear, actionable capability outcomes.

The successful applicant will work closely with military stakeholders, capability managers, product teams and delivery partners to define capability requirements, prioritise user needs and support agile delivery activities. A key aspect of the role will be communicating complex technical concepts in clear, practical language that resonates with Defence decision-makers and operational users.

This position is ideal for someone with strategic logistics operational experience who can combine strategic thinking with practical stakeholder engagement to ensure capability solutions remain aligned with user needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with Capability Sponsor and Capability Operator stakeholders to identify, analyse and prioritise operational and logistics capability requirements.
  • Translate operational concepts, user requirements and business needs into functional requirements suitable for agile delivery teams and product backlogs.
  • Facilitate communication between operational stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Support senior leaders through the preparation of briefing materials, decision support papers and presentation products.
  • Contribute to governance activities, risk assessments and capability assurance processes.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong understanding of contemporary military planning and logistics processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience preparing high-quality written products for senior Defence decision-makers.
  • Minimum NV1 Security Clearance.

Desirable

  • Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and product management practices.
  • Experience translating operational needs into functional requirements, user stories or capability outcomes.
  • Practical understanding of capability lifecycle processes and governance.
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and influence outcomes in complex environments.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong judgement, excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across military, APS, industry and technical stakeholder groups.
