Defense Litigation Paralegal

Robert Half is seeking a skilled Defense Litigation Paralegal to support a busy legal team in Downtown Manhattan. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with litigation experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can provide immediate support with discovery and case management functions.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Downtown Manhattan, NY (On-Site)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Pay Rate : $30-$35 per hour

Responsibilities

• Provide litigation support throughout all phases of the case lifecycle.
• Assist with discovery, including document collection, organization, review, and production.
• Draft and prepare discovery-related correspondence, including good faith letters.
• Support attorneys with motion practice, including preparation and filing of motions and related documents.
• Manage case files, pleadings, exhibits, and litigation calendars.
• Coordinate with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed.
• Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of litigation-related tasks.
• Assist with legal research and other administrative litigation support duties.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Defense litigation experience preferred; plaintiff-side litigation experience will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of discovery procedures and document management.
• Experience drafting good faith letters required.
• Motion practice experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management systems.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload
