Deisel Mechanic

Looking for a Diesel Mechanic for a family owned and operated private fleet of newer tractors and reefer trailers.

Duties

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues

• Conduct inspections and testing of diesel equipment

• Repair or replace faulty parts and components

• Perform tire service, including mounting, balancing, and rotation

• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed

• Provide excellent customer service to clients

Skills:- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines

• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks

• Perform maintenance and repairs on trailers, including electrical, mechanical, reefer and structural components

• Assemble and install parts and components as needed

• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and prevent breakdowns

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating moving parts and changing fluids

• Test trailer systems, including brakes, lights, and hydraulics, to ensure proper functioning

• Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic or similar role

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems in trailers

• Proficiency in using automotive diagnostics tools

• Ability to assemble, weld, and fabricate metal parts

• Familiarity with reefer units and HVAC systems is a plus

• Knowledge of hydraulics is a plus

-Knowledge of welding is a plus

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

-CDL license and PA inspection license is a plus.

Day shift and week days only! Excellent pay based on experience. We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to manage the garage. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on diesel engines and trailers. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. In this role, you will diagnose mechanical issues, conduct repairs, and replace faulty parts. You will also perform tire service, including mounting, balancing, and rotation. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all repairs and services performed. To succeed in this position, you should have a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues.
