Deli & Kitchen Assistant

Full Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Deli & Kitchen Assistant to join our Killester Kitchen Team.

We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and hardworking individual with previous kitchen experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being part of a team. The ideal candidate will be confident in supporting daily kitchen operations while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

Duties include:

• Assisting with food preparation, including ingredient preparation, portioning, and basic cooking tasks
• Supporting chefs during busy service periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen at all times
• Washing dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and ensuring all items are stored correctly
• Receiving, checking, and storing deliveries in line with food safety procedures
• Monitoring stock levels and informing supervisors of any shortages
• Following all food safety, HACCP, and health & safety procedures
• Assisting with opening and closing kitchen duties
• Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and high-quality food preparation

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a busy commercial kitchen (minimum 1 year preferred)
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work under pressure
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and public holidays when required
