Responsibilities

• Manage daily deli operations, including food preparation, inventory control, and customer service to ensure smooth workflow and high standards.
• Supervise and train staff on food handling, safety procedures, POS systems (such as Aloha POS and Micros POS), and customer service techniques to foster a motivated team environment.
• Oversee food production processes, including cooking, slicing, packaging, and maintaining quality standards aligned with health regulations.
• Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems and perform cash handling duties while maintaining accountability.
• Monitor inventory levels regularly to prevent waste and ensure product availability; coordinate ordering and stock rotation efficiently.
• Enforce food safety protocols, cleanliness standards, and compliance with local health regulations to guarantee a safe dining experience for guests.
• Conduct staff interviews, training sessions, performance evaluations, and manage shift schedules to optimize team productivity.

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, kitchen management, or restaurant supervision within fast-paced environments such as quick service or casual dining establishments.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for efficient transaction processing.
• Excellent leadership skills with a background in managing hospitality teams or supervising food service staff.
• Demonstrated ability in inventory control, budgeting, profit & loss analysis, and food safety management.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence across diverse dining settings including fine dining or catering environments.
• Experience in training & development initiatives to elevate team performance and ensure consistent service quality.
• Familiarity with managing hospitality operations such as shift management, food production, catering services, and banquet events is highly desirable.

The store is primarily an Italian Grocery and Delicatessen with a reputation for Italian and Specialty Foods that reaches from coast to coast. The store includes Milwaukee's #1 delicatessen, prepared fresh-to-go foods, catering, coffee service, bakery, cheese, wine, and spirits.
